The floating boathouse is an option that is engineered for situations that involve installations where the water is simply too deep for piles to be drilled. They are designed bearing in mind structural loading, possible boat lift installation, site influences such as rough water and/or windy conditions. A big advantage is the mobility, with the ability to move locations at any time.
A nice example of some of the work Docks and Lifts does in this area. Pipe holes are drilled through the ice and bedrock at the height of winter, and the frame welded to the laid pipes soon after. Our in-house C.Tech, Greg Thompson, designs the building, calculates structural loads, selects the materials and puts it all into AutoCad to give you the attention to detail that your project deserves.
The ability to bring your boat out of the water and into an enclosed boathouse or shelter is a great way to make sure that your investment is kept out of the weather, allows you to maintain and clean whilst preventing algae buildup.
Metal roofed canopies are a durable, attractive option, and come in a wide range of colors.
This option keeps the rain and element off the boat at a portion of the cost of a full boathouse, and enables you to aesthetically tie it in with the surrounding buildings
